We have a staff comprised of people with restaurant and culinary experience. Some members of our staff have even been trained in the nation’s finest culinary institutes. But we are not necessarily here to review based on what the industry considers to be good or bad. We are actually here to provide a public forum for the discussion of what the consumer appreciates. Good Food, a Pleasant Atmosphere, and Great Service.

It would obviously not help us in the review process if the area restaurants knew who we were, as they might try to give us special attention, which could potentially make the review results completely inaccurate. Therefore, we will publish our reviews under “pen names” to protect our anonymity, and therefore maintain a review process that is truthful to what you could expect if you went there yourself. After all, that’s the point!

To keep things honest, and to avoid conflicts of interest, we do not intend to accept direct advertising by restaurants on dininginthegorge.com. Our group would rather pay to operate this site completely out of pocket, than compromise our integrity with our readers.

We will not review “chain” restaurants but focus instead on family owned and independently owned eateries. Chain restaurants cannot respond quickly to praise or criticism, so reviewing them would not be as beneficial to our sites visitors.
